Ephesians 2: 1-10

Overview:
Before we trusted Christ, we were dead in our sins. We once followed the world and its ruler, Satan, (the prince of the power of the air- v. 2) as still do those who have not believed the gospel message. BUT GOD (love that part) even though we were mired in our sins, saved us - purely out of grace, because we did not deserve it or earn it. It's by grace you have been saved (2:8-9) not of works, so that you couldn't boast that you had anything to do with your salvation. Salvation is a free gift from God. God created us - His workmanship. He created us to do good works, a plan He had for us before we were born - a plan so we would know how to walk the walk.
Application:
Nothing I can do will earn me more of God's love. He knew about me before the creation of the world, and drew me to Himself, knowing I could not/would not come on my own volition. I live day-by-day by His timetable for my life. I want to live my life yielded to His control as His will is best for me. He had a plan for me, and prayerfully I am living it out for His glory.
