Overview:
Righteousness begins this verse and righteousness ends it. The writer is filled with adoration and praise as he speaks of some of the attributes of God. God is righteous and so are His words. David's zeal consumes him (he is filled w/ righteous indignation) against those who don't obey God's Word.YOUR PROMISE (v. 140) IS WELL TRIED, AND YOUR SERVANT LOVES IT. No matter what comes his way (143) it is God's Word that holds him up. He concludes w/ asking for understanding God's Word so that he may truly live life to its fullest.
Application:
I love verse 140!! I too have relied on God's promises and found them to be trustworthy. And furthermore, this servant loves it as well! There are precious things we can count on in this world that won't let us down - God is the only thing - the only One who can be counted on time and time again. Each time we "test" Him, He is found faithful. Thank you God for being my lifeline that I can cling to when all around me is in a messed up sinful state. I would have no one if it weren't for You!!
